Central to the Westwood Estate development is a green belt comprising 11 hectares of the 30-hectare estate. The alien vegetation is being replaced with indigenous woodland. This encompasses the existing wetland and fauna and flora to create an ambience of peaceful living within a city boundary.

Walking paths through the conservation area allow Westwood Estate residents to enjoy evening or afternoon strolls in complete safety, surrounded by the birdlife and indigenous vegetation. The trails are clearly marked and maps are available from the Estate Manager. With the abundant birdlife, it makes the walks an interesting and pleasurable experience.

Residents in the estate have the opportunity to appreciate the natural environment and with over an estimated 120 different bird species frequenting the area, bird watching will soon become a pleasurable hobby. The Estate Manager is a keen wildlife enthusiast, and will be happy to assist in identifying any species.
